Frequently Asked Questions

For Secondary and Elementary students, January through May is a good time to consider enrollment as academic records from the current school year are generally available and can be submitted with your application. Applications are accepted for all grades as early as September of the year prior to enrollment, with the understanding that a decision may not be made until the following spring when class sizes have been finalized. The re-enrollment process for current students occurs in March/April each year. 

QSI International School of Bishkek welcomes applications throughout the school year for the following year's enrollment. 

QSI international School of Bishkek requests previous school records for all elementary and secondary students.

• For students in the 7-11 Year-Old-Classes we request a copy of the student's previous year’s records.
• For students in the 12 Year-Old-Class or higher, we request a copy of all school records from age 12 onward. 

All students new to QSI International School of Bishkek will undertake short screening assessments in English language and mathematics. These diagnostic assessments will help us ensure that new students are correctly placed academically.

Following official admission procedures, students are placed within their age levels. A placement examination is given to each student to determine the appropriate level of instruction. The test involves reading, writing, and mathematics. In literacy (reading and writing) and mathematics students are placed according to ability; in all other subjects, students are placed according to age.

Younger children do not need to be English speakers when beginning at our school. Through our school's Intensive English program, they will be speaking English very quickly after joining QSIB.  Students applying to the secondary school must show a certain level of English proficiency.  Students who are joining us at age 12 or 13 will need to be ready to reach the secondary English proficiency level before starting secondary school.
